Environmental protection

scope 1 and 2 emissions

We are committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by installing photovoltaic systems. We initiated this project at our headquarters in 2018 and expanded it to Bientina in 2021. In 2023, we added new solar plants in DAB Hungary and DAB China, and upgraded the existing system in Bientina. 

Through these initiatives, we have achieved a capacity of 4.4 MWp, which allows us to avoid approximately 1,200 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

We reuse water

to protect the environment

By integrating our rainwater recovery and recirculation systems, we save around 1,300 m³ of water annually, accounting for 8% of our total group-level consumption.

Since 2019, we have also been reusing approximately 600 cubic metres of grey water for irrigation at our headquarters and the Val Liona plant. 

Furthermore, we have implemented rainwater recovery for toilets, saving 500 m³ per year at DAB Hungary since 2022, and we plan to save an additional 200 m³ at DAB China starting in 2024.

We are dedicated to minimising our environmental impact through sustainable transportation solutions.

We connect our Mestrino plant to the warehouse using a shuttle powered by bio-LNG derived from livestock manure, which helps reduce emissions. Additionally, we employ intermodal rail services to supply our hub in Northern Europe, achieving a reduction in CO₂ emissions of up to 70%. On some maritime routes, we utilise sustainable marine fuel to further decrease emissions.

Sustainable Supply Chain

As part of our sustainability journey, we are mapping the ESG performance of our supply chain to establish more targeted objectives and enhance collaboration with our suppliers.

In 2024, we successfully engaged with 200 suppliers globally and will continue to work together to exceed our sustainability goals.
